My enrolment at Faith Montessori School with serendipitous encounter between Uncle Pee and my mother when they met at an Old Achimota School event. That was when my parents were introduced to FAITH. They followed up with an initial visit to School Daddy and, undoubtedly, School Daddy wowed them. My parents were thoroughly impressed by the educational philosophy outlined by the FAITH schema. Subsequently, I had the opportunity to meet with School Daddy, who displayed a genuine interest in my academic aspirations. He took time to outline the benefits of a FAITH education and how I would succeed and do great things in FAITH.
I liked him and I liked the school. To their surprise, School Daddy asked that I start school that very day. This was at a time when I had just completed 2nd term in my previous school and was just two days into a vacation I looked forward to. However, that meeting settled my parents resolve to move me to FAITH which was a decision that proved to be transformative and also settled the long-drawn battle between my parents about whether I would attend Mfantsipm or Achimota School.
My previous school was just a 10-minute drive from home, FAITH was miles away. Transitioning to Faith Montessori School marked a significant shift in my educational journey, both in terms of curriculum and environment. The transition from the Ghanaian Education Curriculum to the Cambridge Curriculum presented a new set of challenges, but also opportunities for personal growth. I had been thrown into the deep end and yet FAITH is where I overcame my shyness; FAITH is where I battled for a leadership position and became Deputy Head Boy when I had spent only 4years in the school; FAITH is where Mr. Gaisie and Mr. Victor helped me to develop my piano skills that I use to glorify my maker; FAITH is where Mr. Okyere, Mr. Chrysanthus, Mr. Rasheed, Mr. Meinsuh, and Mrs. Braide brought out my love and passion for Math. FAITH is where Mr. Osei and Mr. Antwi helped me to maximize my utility through Economics; FAITH is where Mr. Yartey and Mr. Sam helped motivate me towards achieving all my goals. FAITH is where I aced my IGCSEs and will be where I will ace my A-Levels. Moving from my comfort zone to striving beyond the limits summarizes my FAITH journey. I am grateful to my parents, Pastor and Mrs. Antwi-Dadzie, my siblings, and everyone who has helped me on this amazing journey. There have been many struggles and many victories. What has been defining for me is how FAITH positions you to strive harder, and how both teaching and non-teaching staff support every student to bring out the best in them. I know for a fact my FAITH journey would help me from others as I go to the outside world on my own.
