The Building Blocks for tomorrow: My journey at FAITH

The day I walked into I FAITH, I was welcomed I with a warmness I could never forget. Mr. Chrysanthus, Ama, Kishi and Isaac were some of the first people in my new class to ever talk to me. They made me feel as if I was a long-lost friend who had just returned to school and after my first day, I wasn’t opposed to the idea of actually being part of the FAITH community.

I was never quite able to quickly grasp the syllabus but Auntie Emma (May her soul rest in peace) made me realize that it wasn’t beyond my reach. She and I had remediation classes for a full term and thanks to the LaSaCaWac method, learning actually became easier.

Subjects I was struggling with became child’s play in a short amount of time and the effort the teachers put into helping me understand each subject also motivated me to do my best. Ms. Antoinette, Ms. Elsie, Ms. Abigail and Ms. Peace really made literature one of my favourite subjects. Business with Mr. Sam and Mr. Yartey holds some of my favourite memories! Math with Mr. Rashid and Mr. Chrysanthus always brightened my mood. Eventually, the day of IGCSE came round and I felt seriously prepared for it; I was especially prepared for chemistry. The day I walked into Mr. Pee’s office for my results, I was only eager to hear my Chemistry grade, since it was one of the subjects I struggled in the most. When he read the results to me, I already knew what I was going to get an A*! With the aid of Mr. Wahib, Mr. Essilfie and my parents, it became possible.

In Lower 6, the journey for Prefectship was something I could never forget. I decided to go for the position of Head Chapel Prefect and won with Belinda Lawer as the Assistant Prefect. It was a learning journey as Belinda and I learnt howto be better role models for our juniors as Pastor Dennis continued to guide and motivate us. The college admission period was long and stressful, but Mrs. Bridget was there to help us through it. ISSAG was one of the things that made my journey interesting: participating in swimming and high jump was truly a thrill. The A-Level journey was a ROUGH one! But all the teachers, students and non¬ teaching staff have always been helpful and key motivators and my mom, dad, aunties, uncles and grandparents have always been there to help me do better with my studies. Thank you, FAITH, for the memories and the learning experience.
