FAITH Decides – 2026
At Faith Montessori School, leadership is never just about wearing a badge: it is a responsibility that must be earned. This year’s journey to selecting new student leaders began on 14th January, 2026, with a thorough vetting process. For the first time in the history of the school, all Lower Six students went through the vigorous vetting process aimed at identifying students who demonstrated confidence, clear communication, and a strong sense of responsibility.
From this group, a shortlist of candidates was selected. Each candidate was then given the opportunity to present their manifesto to the whole school. The presentations were lively and creative, with students using rhymes, chants, and videos to communicate their ideas and inspire their peers.
The main event, Faith Decides, took place on 30th January, 2026. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation as students cast their votes. By 3:30 PM, the sound of the bell sent a wave of excitement through the school: it was finally time to announce the winners of this year’s elections. Students gathered along the corridors while the Lower Six candidates stood at the centre, waiting for the decision of the student body.
After the votes were counted, Faith Montessori School officially announced its new prefects for the 2026 leadership term.
Passing the Torch
The leadership transition was made official on 5th February, 2026, during the Prefects’ Handing Over Ceremony. It was a meaningful morning that marked the formal transfer of responsibilities from the outgoing prefects to the newly elected team.
The ceremony began with a reflective address by the outgoing Head Boy, Ekow Lindsey. Speaking on behalf of his team, he shared some of their achievements and the lessons they learned during their time in office. He also expressed appreciation to the school management, teachers, and students for their support throughout their leadership journey.
In a symbolic moment, the incoming prefects were presented with their badges and took their oath of office, pledging to serve with integrity and commitment. The event ended with the maiden speech of the new Head Boy, Ato Kwamena Asuming-Yawson, who thanked the school for the trust placed in him and assured every one of the new prefect body’s commitment to upholding the values of Faith Montessori School.
